Colossal Candlestick Creations

Bleh, personally I think this looks like trash... But I wanted to show what I had so far since I've wasted enough time on it. The shading on the candlestick is pretty abysmal, but I think I've got the technique down for using paths to cut shapes out etc. for easier shading... I'll have another go with a simpler candlestick probably. I'll be grabbing some more reference photos from the gallery tomorrow if anyone would like any in particular.

A little stumped on how the background should look too, it needs something else to add interest and my brain isn't helping me out. Any input would be appreciated.
